We want to make sure we get the best possible outcome when we trade. Well, there is one trade that cannot be surpassed: We traded our sinful nature for the righteousness of Christ. Christ gained this righteousness for us when He went to the cross. The death and resurrection of Jesus procured our salvation.
Jesus says to us, come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me …and you will find rest unto your souls. Why would we choose to neglect such an offer. Why would we choose to walk around in darkness when we can walk in the light. Why would we choose to lack wisdom when God says all we have to do is ask Him for it (James 1:5). When we are led by God’s Holy Spirit, we are able to avoid the traps and snares that have been set for us.
I have experienced both: Living in separation from God because of being born in sin and having a relationship with God through the forgiveness of my sins, when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. There is no doubt as to which is the better existence. Before I accepted Jesus, I had no real peace in my soul. I was constantly anxious and unsure of many things. Now that I have Jesus in my life and the Holy Spirit lives in me, I have not only peace but joy that bubbles up from inside of me for no particular reason.
I have confidence that the future God has for me is going to be good. I know that He will always provide for me. I have seen God move in miraculous ways to make sure that I have what I need. I have seen Him solve situations that I thought would overwhelm me. God is faithful in keeping His word, faithful in fulfilling His promises. We can take God at His word for He is not a man that He should lie. His love for us is beyond our comprehension. He has numbered even the hairs of our head.
As the world enters a time of war and rumors of war, that the bible predicts will be a sign of Jesus’ imminent return, we need to make sure that we have a ticket for the rapture. That ticket is the indwelling Holy Spirit. Jesus said many will say to Him, Lord, Lord, have we not done all these wonderful things in your name, and He will respond, depart from me, I never knew you. God cannot be mocked, whatever a man soweth that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).
Jesus is waiting for us to come to Him, confess our sins, and exchange our sins for His righteousness. We are righteous not because we are perfect, we are righteous because we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ.
