Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

We are living in a time where there is much uncertainty in the world. Much of this uncertainty is around finances. Will prices go up? Will there be a shortage? This uncertainty may cause us anxiety, unless we trust in the Lord to provide no matter what circumstances we face. With this in mind, I would like to share with you one of my experiences of God’s miraculous provision. It was not the amount that He provided. It was the fact that He made a way where there seemed to be no way. I hope this story will increase your faith.

Many years ago, I moved from New Jersey to Florida. I wanted to return to New Jersey to pick up a tv that I had left behind. I hitched a trailer to the back of my Oldsmobile and headed from Florida back to New Jersey. My daughter accompanied me.

I had prayed to ask the Lord if I should make the trip. I knew it was an ambitious undertaking given the age of my car and the length of the trip. I was also operating with limited funds. I felt I got His permission. However, there was a nagging feeling that I may have a flat tire.

The trip was uneventful. We spent one night in a hotel breaking up the hours on the road. On the last part of the trip, it happened; I got a flat tire. Fortunately, I remembered seeing an auto repair shop about a mile prior to the flat. I pulled off the road and my daughter and I walked back to the auto shop. It was dusk and the light was fading. An assessment was made by a mechanic who drove to my vehicle. I was told it would cost $20 to fix the flat. It might as well have been $100, I had no more money left. (Someone was going to give me money for my return trip). I called my mother and asked her to use her credit card to pay for the flat. To my disappointment, she said no.

In the meantime, my daughter wandered over to a toy claw machine. She put her last quarter into the machine and to her amazement pulled out a toy. There strapped around the neck of the toy, with a rubber band, was a $20 bill. This miraculous provision was made up of these components: Someone, a person or an angel had placed that $20 bill there. It was put there before I arrived. This is the location where I had to stop. I was in God’s will.

In God’s will is where we will find provision. He will go before us to make a way.
