Dronegate Escalates: Feds Close NJ Airspace, Threaten Deadly Force.

Merry Christmas! Chooster’s! close

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered some parts of the airspace over New Jersey closed for “special security reasons” until January 17, 2025. Additionally, the agency states that those found in violation could be detained or even face deadly force. Some unmanned aircraft seen in the New Jersey skies over the past two months allegedly include large, military-style drones, believed to be the size of a small car.

Areas affected by the FAA ban include Hamilton, Bridgewater, Bayonne, Cedar Grove, North Brunswick, Metuchen, Camden, Gloucester City, South Brunswick, Edison, Branchburg, Sewaren, Westampton, Jersey City, Harrison, Elizabeth, Winslow, Burlington, Clifton, Evesham, Hancocks Bridge, and Kearny.

New Jersey has continued to face a deluge of unmanned drone sightings across the state, with some drones spotted near sensitive military sites. However, the Biden government has done little to assuage the concerns of residents in the Garden State—dismissing the sightings as either misidentified aircraft or just commercially available drones being flown by hobbyists.

“Having closely examined the technical data and tips from concerned citizens, we assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as a drone,” the Biden government claimed in a statement issued earlier this week.
