Judge Considers Disqualifying Fulton County DA Fani Willis from Trump RICO Case, Proceeds with Hearing

Judge Scott McAfee suggests possible disqualification of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from Trump’s RICO case due to her connection with top prosecutor Nathan Wade, stating an evidentiary hearing on alleged misconduct is imperative.

During Monday’s hearing, Judge McAfee emphasized the need for an evidentiary session to establish facts regarding the alleged conflict, highlighting the importance of determining the nature and extent of the relationship between Willis and Wade.

Earlier this month, subpoenas were issued to both Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, compelling them to testify at Thursday’s evidentiary hearing, as per a lawsuit filed by Trump’s RICO co-defendant Michael Roman.

A new lawsuit filed by Ashleigh Merchant, attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, accuses Fani Willis’ office of deliberately withholding information.

The upcoming hearing on February 15 may feature sworn testimony from Willis and Wade, responding to a motion by Roman seeking dismissal of the RICO charge and disqualification of Willis over her alleged romantic involvement with Wade.
