The bible says, “without a vision the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). People who have a vision also have hope. A vision is always something that foretells the future. Along with a good vision comes hope for a better future.
Faith can lead to hope. When we stand on the promises of God by faith, we look with expectancy, (hope) for the promises we have faith in to become a reality. No matter what today’s experience may be; no matter how difficult life may seem, we can exercise our faith in God’s promises and expect things to get better in the future. This expectancy (hope) is based on the belief that the future can be brighter, and we can accomplish our dreams.
It is not sufficient however, to just wish and hope when we need something to happen. Hope does not move God, Faith moves God. I have experienced this many times in my own life. So many times, I have spent time wishing and hoping for something and it does not happen. However, as soon as I exercise my faith and bring the matter before God in prayer, I get the result I was seeking.
Because of this, I have learned whenever I start feeling anxious about something, to take it to God in prayer. The first thing that happens is the anxiety goes away. This often occurs because God gives me His peace and I have faith in believing that He is going to positively answer my prayer. Sometimes when we pray about a matter. God may instruct us on what to do in order to bring about the desired outcome.
Many times, God’s instructions do not have all the steps. He may only show the first step and when we have taken it, the second, and so on, to completion. It is often only in looking back that we get the full picture of the steps required. Taking each step requires faith and trust in God. Each step of faith is accompanied by the hope that things will turn out good.
God always keep His promises. The ones promised in the bible and the individual promises He makes us. 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
