Steve Bannon Heading to Prison after Supreme Court Refuses to Defer Sentence

President Donald Trump’s former White House advisor Steve Bannon is now heading to prison as the United States Supreme Court refused to defer his sentence.

The Supreme Court denied Bannon’s request to avoid serving prison time while his appeal is pending, Breitbart reported.

The former Trump campaign strategist and advisor is convicted of contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena.

The January 6 Select Committee demanded Bannon testify for the Democrats’ “investigation” of the protests at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Bannon refused to appear and was sentenced to four months behind bars.

His conviction was upheld but will now go before the Supreme Court for further review.
