How blessed we are to know that during these perilous times God is able to protect, provide and direct. The Holy Spirit will lead us in the way we should go. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” The Holy Spirit will lead us in the way we should go. Now is the time to learn to hear from Him. We can always pray for the things we do not have. If you are not sure how to hear from the Holy Spirit, pray that you may learn.

It is important to be in the right place at the right time. Sometimes God may orchestrate our circumstances to make this happen. At other times we may need to hear from the Holy Spirit to know what to do. When we are sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit, God does not have to cause our circumstances to guide us, He can just tell us what to do. Jesus said my sheep know my voice (John 10:27-28) Once we know what to do and where to go, it would be unwise not to do it. God is not guiding us for His best interest but for ours. He guides us out of love and compassion. The Psalmist wrote:

Psalm 23:2-6 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. He is the good shepherd who demonstrated His love for us when He laid down His life for us. Greater love has no man than this that a man would lay down His life for His friends (John 15:13). As the world becomes more perilous, it becomes even more important for us to be led by the Holy Spirit. We have to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not to our own understanding.

Pray about everything, with thanksgiving. Be thankful for all that He has done. Just being able to live in the U.S. is a blessing. This country provides us with many opportunities. We can even get financial help from the government; this is not true of many other countries. We cannot and should not take what we have been given for granted. A thankful heart can experience the joy of the Lord, which is our strength.
