Mark 11:23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

The bible teaches us about the power of the spoken word. The above scripture not only puts an emphasis on faith it also puts an emphasis on the spoken word. The words “say” and “says” appear four times in this short passage. It does not say if you pray for the mountain to be removed it specifically says “says” to the mountain. We know that God created the heavens and earth by speaking them into existence. Genesis 1:3 “Then God said “Let there be light”; and there was light. This is the first verse where God starts speaking the earth into existence. This same God lives in us in the form of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” This scripture tells us clearly that what we say can bless or curse us. It is also an admonition not to speak carelessly. I have shared that I saw a change in my finances when I started saying positive affirmations every day concerning it. Now, it has become a part of my morning routine to say positive affirmations not only for me but also for my children. I speak into their lives the things I want them to experience. They have also experienced financial blessings. I also speak health into their lives. I also encourage them to say their own positive affirmations every morning.

Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” When I first said the “sinner’s prayer”. This is the prayer where we admit that we are sinners and ask Jesus to come into our heart and to forgive us of our sins. I did not feel a change; until I told someone that I had accepted Jesus into my life. The moment I said this to him, I felt a physical change. I felt a load lifted from my back and a supernatural peace. I knew that I was born-again. I also felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit when He comes into our lives begins to show us all the areas where we need to change. He sheds a light on all the things, all the bad habits, that we have and need to get rid of. Then He helps us to do it. Some habits are more ingrained and may take more time to change.

My mother accepted Jesus before she died. I know because I led her in the “sinner’s prayer”. We are told in the scriptures that now we see through a glass darkly. In other words, we will not fully understand the things of God this side of heaven. I was believing God for a promise He had made me. She appeared to me in a dream and said, “It has to come out of your mouth”. My mother has rarely appeared to me in dreams since she has passed away. So, I knew this must have really been important. I was also aware that she said it with some annoyance. As if she was not particularly pleased with the fact that she had to take the time to tell me this. I thought…I didn’t know that people could show up in a dream, from heaven, and seem to be annoyed 😊 However, it is the same way she would have said it if she were here on earth.

I believe this is a very important post and, if the Lord allows, I will continue it in my next one. There are other scriptures on this subject and more details to share. Thank you for reading and may God richly bless you today and always.
