Job said…Job 3:25 “What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.” Job wasn’t fully enjoying what he had as he was anxious about losing it. We attract into our lives the things we think and talk about. It is not possible to live in peace if we are constantly worried about things that have not happened. When anxious thoughts cross our minds, it is important to pray and turn our anxieties over to God so His peace can reign in our hearts.
Peace and joy are a state of mind. Many times, we may tell ourselves if only I could be a millionaire, I would be happy, and my life would be great. While there are benefits to being able to pay our bills and having money to help others, unless we learn to control our minds, we will not experience joy and peace, even then. As a matter of fact, when we have a lot of money, we tend to engage in more activities that could possibly have a negative outcome. First of all, we need to be led by the Holy Spirit in how to use our money. This will keep us from investing in the wrong things. Then we need to control our thoughts, so we do not live in fear of losing what we have. I cannot over emphasize the need for us to say positive affirmations every day. Not only does the spoken word have power; it will help us to have a positive mindset.
I remember when my son had just gotten his driver’s license. He got a job that required him not only to drive to work, but to pick up people from one location and transport them to another. I was concerned that he might have an accident. Not only would that have caused him possible harm, but he could also be held liable for any harm caused to others. So, I gave him my brand-new Lexus to drive 😊One good thing about that car was the fact that it had a lot of features that helped the driver…warning signals, back-up camera, etc. I, of course, prayed every day that he would be safe on the road. One way that I managed to calm my concern, was to picture him pulling into the garage safe and sound after work. He worked there for several months and never had an incident. He later shared with me all the close calls he had. I am glad he waited to share 😊
It is important to picture a positive outcome when faced with any challenges. Pray about things and trust God that He will make all things work together for good.
