ep. Hakeem Jeffries, a top contender to replace outgoing Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi, has smeared pro-life Americans repeatedly in recent years, describing half the country as a “threat” and “yahoos” for believing babies in the womb deserve to be protected from violence.
Fox News reports Jeffries, who represents New York City, is favored to become the House Minority Leader in 2023 after Pelosi and two other top Democrats announced Thursday that they will not seek leadership roles next year. Republicans won control of the House in the midterm election earlier this month.
Along with Pelosi, Democrat House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and House Whip Jim Clyburn also said they will not run for leadership roles next year. Jeffries currently serves as the House Democratic Caucus Chair.
Only one pro-life Democrat still serves in the U.S. House, so any leader chosen will be pro-abortion. But Jeffries does not just have a pro-abortion voting record. He also has been openly hostile toward pro-life Americans, including earlier this year when pro-life organizations were hit with a crime wave of arson, vandalism and other violence.
During a July press conference, Jeffries blasted pro-lifers as “extreme on reproductive freedom.”
