evin McCarthy, U.S. House Minority Leader, is landing in hot water with conservatives again. McCarthy has spoken out repeatedly voicing opinions that do not reflect Republican values, and now an audio recording has been leaked that is the latest in McCarthy’s latest liberal slanted blunder.
The latest person to sound warnings about McCarthy’s leadership in the House is Fox News host Tucker Carlson, commenting on the release of the audio as he discussed Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, and what that means for American free speech. Carlson, whose Twitter account has now been thawed since Musk took over, had displayed a chyron the previous night on his broadcast proclaiming, “FREE SPEECH IS RESTORED; @TUCKERCARLSON BACK ON TWITTER. UNSHACKLED BY ELON MUSK.”
On Tuesday, Carlson warned Republicans against supporting California Rep. Kevin McCarthy for House speaker if the GOP wins control of the lower chamber this fall.
The difference between Republicans who stand for free speech and traditional values, and the so-called ‘RINOS’ who are voicing ideas more in line with Democratic ideals is becoming pronounced.
Carlson said that Democrats “favor censorship for political ends” but now some “Republican leaders support it too” referring to the buzz surrounding McCarthy’s comments on the recording.
Some have suggested other Republican names for leadership in the House should the GOP win the majority in the next election.
The top-rated cable news personality reacted Tuesday to a taped conversation McCarthy had with colleagues after the Capitol riot in which he expressed his desire for social media companies to ban certain members of his caucus after former President Donald Trump’s account was permanently suspended.
