Brad Parscale Departs From Trump Campaign Due to ‘Overwhelming Stress’

Senior Trump campaign adviser Brad Parscale. is stepping away from his company, according to a statement he provided to Politico.

“I am stepping away from my company and any role in the campaign for the immediate future to focus on my family and get help dealing with the overwhelming stress,” Parscale said in the statement.

Parscale did not immediately respond to a request by The Epoch Times to verify the statement.

Parscale was hospitalized on Sunday after he allegedly threatened to harm himself at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to reports. He was arrested under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows for police to detain a person who might harm themselves or others. Authorities also confiscated 10 guns from his home.

Parscale’s wife, Candice, told Politico in a separate statement that he did not physically abused her, contrary to earlier police reports.

“The statements I made on Sunday have been misconstrued. Let it be clear: my husband was not violent towards me that day or any day prior,” she said.

President Donald Trump demoted Parscale in July and named Bill Stepien as the new campaign manager.

Parscale was named the manager for Trump’s reelection campaign in March 2018. Prior to being the campaign manager, he ran Trump’s digital advertising campaign in 2016 and was credited with helping Trump win at the time.

Tim Murtaugh, the Trump campaign communications director, on Sunday night issued a statement to media outlets following initial reports of Parscale having been hospitalized.

“Brad Parscale is a member of our family and we all love him. We are ready to support him and his family in any way possible. The disgusting, personal attacks from Democrats and disgruntled RINOs have gone too far, and they should be ashamed of themselves for what they’ve done to this man and his family,” he said, referring to the acronym “Republican in name only,” used to describe Democratic-leaning Republican politicians.

Timothy Skaggs, one of the officers who responded to a police call from Parscale’s home, wrote in a police report that his wife, Candice Parscale, allegedly “heard a loud bang shortly after [then] they realized that Bradley did not shoot himself when they heard Bradley ranting and pacing around the residence.”

Brad Parscale was later tackled by SWAT officers in his driveway with a beer in his hand, police said.

The chief said that he did not threaten police and went willingly under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows for police to detain a person who might harm themselves or others.

“Politics aside, this fellow obviously suffers from emotional distress,” Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis told the Sun-Sentinel. “I’m glad he didn’t do any harm to himself or others. I commend our SWAT team for being able to negotiate a peaceful ending to this.”
