aw enforcement officials in Massachusetts have revealed that three young police officers have died “suddenly” and “unexpectedly” in the space of just one week.
The Massachusetts State Police announced the passing of the “Three active-duty Law Enforcement Officers.”
None of the officers died from incidents in the line of duty, however.
In a Wednesday Facebook post dedicated to the fallen officers, the Mass. State Police confirmed that all three of the cops were “from the South Shore communities.”
All three “passed away suddenly within the last seven days,” the post notes.
The post adds particular emphasis on the death of 25-year-old Officer John F. Santos of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department.
Santos died “after succumbing to a brain aneurysm,” the post states.
He was also a member of the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant, and served overseas in 2019, according to the post.
Officer Santos is survived by a fiancé and an unborn son.
